Good hip pack, but...

It's a really good hip pack. Strong materials, lightweight, and big capacity. Though I wish there was a elastic to to hold the excess belt strap. I ended up just stealing one from one of my other packs strap. I posted a picture below of the elastic I added. to fix my issue. I like the inner pocket and its very handy when traveling with passports as the flap securely holds the contents.

Thanks so much for your review! We’re really glad to hear you like the pack’s materials, weight, and capacity, and that the inner pocket worked well for your passport.

We totally get why you'd want an elastic for the excess strap. We don’t include one because we believe tucking the strap in works just as well—it keeps everything in place and is easier to adjust on the go.

I love this thing so much!

I hate to gush, but I’m going to gush. I brought this pack with me on the Camino de Santiago and got tons of compliments (worked great as a shoulder bag for going into town, or for walking with all my key docs and “need to access” items). It’s just the right size, the clip is positioned where it’s easy to access, and it kept my kit dry during sideways rain. In albuerges, it was where I kept all my critical irreplaceables. Highly recommend!

Gift

This Roo pack was a birthday gift for my AT thru-hike partner. It was right on time, right size, and most importantly the perfect colors for him.

Roo pack

A lovely bit of kit, so well made and designed. Only used it around town and local walks so far, and it is doing the job well & looks unique and cool as a bonus. The 1.5L version really swallows plenty of gear.

actually the best hip pack there is!

I purchased the large zero waste room, and after using it on trail and in street life for a few months, I truly think it is the perfect hip pack. Because the larger size just has a deeper gusset, it doesn't FEEL large but it fits all my essential..phone, wallet, sunscreen, snacks, sunglasses, and more. I've found that most larger (2.5+ liter) hip packs fit WAY less because they are long and narrow, so fitting your gear in is always an odd puzzle. This pack is amazing in that regard with it's wider width, plus it doesn't look wide or bulbous when it's on the full side. I also love that the zipper is on top of the pack, not oriented toward the front. Sometimes things spill out of those front zippers when you're trying to grab something on trail, but the top zipper of the Roo eliminates that issue. I love the colors of the zero waste option, too! Can't say enough good things!
