Every model of Atom Packs backpack will come with a sternum strap which is now sewn into the daisy-chain webbing.
- Whether you like yours high or low, getting a comfortable fit is important. Take the time to try out a few different heights by sliding the strap up and down on the webbing.
- The strap is designed to offer some support and prevent the shoulder straps from working their way outwards as you hike. The elastic means you have a small amount of flex in this strap to allow your chest to expand and contract as you breathe.
- The strap buckle incorporates a whistle.
Here's a quick guide:
Replacing a lost / damaged strap
If you have an older pack and you've lost your sternum strap, or you have the sewn in version and have damaged your buckle - you can purchase a replacement on our site.
The sternum strap connects to the backpack by attaching onto the shoulder strap daisy chain - this is located under your shoulder pocket, where fitted.
