This pack has few load assisting features and, as such, is only intended to be used by those with dialled in gear lists who like to enjoy the freedom of a light pack and moving without a frame or hip belt.

Features

Dual shoulder pockets
Super stretchy and big enough to hold most smartphones, a day’s worth of snacks or a 700ml water bottle. The elastic is fixed and, owing to its clever design, does not need a tensioner.

Bottom pocket
Easy-access bottom pocket with trash port made with Dyneema stretch fabric.

Large front pocket
Made with Dyneema stretch fabric. Can hold 5L, not included in the total volume.

Side pockets
Two 2.5L forward-facing, deep and low side pockets made with 210D Robic Extreema. Each one is big enough to keep 2 x 1L Smartwater bottles steady, yet low enough to reach whilst the pack is worn.

Front zig-zag elastic
Removable and designed to be able to store a folded Z-rest or assist with air drying your clothes.

Side elastic with Lineloc
These are there to secure a pole or tent stakes when stored in the side pocket. If you are wanting to compress the bag, we recommend switching to a non-stretch cord.

Sternum Strap
Elasticated and height adjustable.

Trekking pole loop
Small, removable elastic toggle to connect walking poles or ice axe.

Excellent lightweight pack

Just completed the Camí De Cavalls. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Now I’ve used the pack I’d pair it with the padded hip belt for heavier loads. The only minor issue I had was fastening the sternum clasp when the shoulder strap pocket was full. Other than that this is an absolute belter of a pack. I just love using it and buying it from the good guys!!

Superbly designed, beautifully made

Bought an Atom RE30 mainly as for day hikes and hut-to-hut style trips outside the UK. I’m constantly amazed at how lightweight it is, the excellent build quality and how durable it feels.

I use mine with the padded hip belt. I have a small body frame and for me this makes 4-5kg carries much more comfortable. Now its easily the most comfortable bag I’ve ever owned. The belt is firmly padded but has a low profile which fits really well across the small of my back so I don’t have that odd sensation that a bulky lumbar pad can give. With this setup I’m sure I can extend the use of this bag into backpacking trips with short food/water carries.

Pockets are fantastic. My first experience with a bottom pocket and I've found it genuinely very useful. I was initially concerned items could fall out, but the material is strong and stretchy with a substantial hem lip at the opening which holds then contents in place. The stash port is such a nice touch and the dual toggles on the side pockets allow for quick tension adjustments. Strap pockets have a firm opening with very stretchy body which securely holds a large phone.

One improvement I'd like is making one of the strap pockets loose enough to fit a 350ml soft water bottle. I also adjusted the sternum strap to fit right to left, which works better for me—nice to have that flexibility.

Overall, I am exceptionally happy with my Atom. Considering the design, high-quality build, excellent customer service and that’s its handmade in the UK, not to mention it’s superbly lightweight, it really is brilliant value for money. It really shows that Atom Packs understand their customers and really care what they do.

Excellent pack

Well made and very light. The strap pockets work well and nicely placed.
I find the buckle on the sternum strap a bit fiddly to close.

For all short adventures

This bag follows me everywhere. Trail. Bike. Skiing. Hiking... With the addition of a second belly strap it does not move. Durable and pleasant to wear. There are 2 things that I would still have liked: an attachment system under the bag and an attachment system for the water bags. Otherwise it's perfect :)

Perfect backpack for day hikes.

After years of using various other backpacks, none of which I was happy with. Finally bought the MO-50 for wildcamping, been so impressed by it I bought the Atom RE30 for day hikes, and 23 mountains in I’m equally as impressed with this.
