@lazerleo_cyclonaut

Heyho! my name is Leoni, but most people know me as Leo the Cyclonaut haha. I have been living in my tent and on my bike for close to four years now. It all started back in May 2022. I questioned the system where people spend more and more hours earning money they don’t even need, only to buy things they don’t really want—just to justify the hours they lost.
That’s not how the story should go. That’s not how life should be. And that was when I left my life in Germany and started cycling towards Nepal. I fell in love with the freedom, adventure and simplicity of this lifestyle- so I continued on the Pamir Highway and followed the Andes of South America. Currently I am roaming Morocco.

What's your favourite trail?
The magic, for me, lies in reaching these treks by bike.
Carrying everything I need with me — no sherpas, no rented gear, just full self-reliance.
I’ve trekked remote, almost unknown routes in the Himalayas of Pakistan, and also some of the most iconic ones in Nepal, like the Annapurna Circuit and the Three Passes.
My favorite from last year was the Huayhuash Trek in Peru.

What Atom Pack will you be using this year?
As of now, I didn’t own a pack myself — I was just jealously eyeing the ones carried by fellow humans on the trail.
Exited to be part of the family now!
I chose the Notch as my robust, lightweight companion.
40 L is perfect for the treks I’ll be doing, and it’s also a great size to strap onto my rear bike rack.
Best tip for the trail?
Easy one: less is more. Who would’ve thought.
But always bring a small sit mat and a long spoon — for reaching the hidden corners of every peanut butter jar.

What are you plans for 2026?
A mix of bikepacking fun, unsupported ultra racing through Europe and hiking in the Pyrenees and Alps!
What's your best piece of advice for aspiring adventurers?
Don't worry or plan too much. Do it.
